Hi, I’m Kevin
If you’ve ever watched a Hallmark Christmas movie and scoffed at the idea of a charming, bustling downtown, filled with independent businesses thinking, “yeah right!” - I’m here to tell you: it’s real.
I know because I grew up in Frankenmuth, Michigan - population 5,153. You might know it as the "Christmas Village” and, yes, a Hallmark Christmas movie really was filmed there in 2019.
For me, it was home—a tight-knit community where almost everyone I knew was a small business owner. There were no big-box stores or chains or faceless corporations. It was family-run shops, restaurants, and services. From an early age, I was inspired by watching people running their own businesses, taking care of their families, and building something of their own to be proud of.
My summers were spent working on my grandparents' farm as a youngster, graduating to work at the local golf course as a teen. Although the atmosphere of these two places couldn’t be more different, they both taught me a lot about hard work. On the farm, I learned how to get my hands dirty and the importance of doing things right the first time, for as long as it took.
Fast forward 15 years, and I’ve spent my career helping businesses, mainly family-run or owner-managed, navigate tax compliance and planning.
As someone who grew up in a place where small business was the backbone of the community, working with Doescher Group to help business owners transition, evolve, or exit their businesses well, with confidence and ease feels like coming home.
It’s an honor and privilege I don’t take lightly.
When I’m not nerding out on the numbers, you can usually find me running, out on the golf course or spending time with my wife, Kristen, and our two boys- plus one more on the way!
I’m excited to bring my background in accounting and consulting to more self-made business owners, helping them take the next step in their journey with confidence!
At the golf course, I discovered my love for the game (even though I didn’t pick up a club until I was almost 18). I started in the pro shop, and after a couple of summers, I was running the bi-weekly schedule and handling the financial reports—jobs that fed into my love for numbers.
It wasn’t just about the work, though. I built meaningful relationships with the regulars, learned to manage stressful situations with a calm and thoughtful approach, and genuinely enjoyed going to work every day.
These are the values that have stuck with me throughout my life and career.
Kevin’s Facts
-
I love woodworking! I built my office desk out of a walnut slab, as well as end tables, an accent table that sits by our front door, and several charcuterie boards. Between two dogs, two kids, and a third on the way, I don’t have a ton of free time to build. But once I do, I’d love to learn how to create serving boards with fancy resin inlays.

When I retire, I’d love to be the opening marshall for a great golf course - maybe Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club? Just putting it out there! It’d be great to spend my days talking to golfers and making sure everyone tees off on time.

Although I've always loved sports, I didn’t enjoy running until college. I was never a track runner, but once I found distance running I was hooked. The mental peace and resilience that one finds out pounding the pavement is something that can't be replicated. I’ve now run more half marathons and long-distance races than I can count. I ran my first marathon in 2022 (Detroit Free Press Marathon, for those wondering), and I'm hoping to begin training for another next year.
