Hi, I’m Ryan

I love words. Even more, I am captivated by a good story. I love how a story can show the richness and depth of a situation in a way simple facts or numbers often can’t. I love how a story can express that unquantifiable spark that made Peloton the dynamic, life-changing brand that I’m excited to get on every morning, rather than just another stationary bike sitting under-utilized in my basement.

My Dad teaches me a lot in my life– if you’ve met him, this would be an obvious statement. As a father now, with a young family myself, I have only recently begun reflecting on the many lessons my pops handed down to me.

Which of these lessons would I like to pass down to my own children? What kind of memories do I want them to have?

What will our family legacy be?

It’s why I love hearing the story of how businesses were built. More often than not, they came from one door closing, a curious line of thought that pulled at the threads of “what ifs” or a deep and powerful why. These stories often tell of life, value, passion and creativity that numbers and spreadsheets alone may not accurately reflect.

I love what I get to do on the team here at Doescher Group. I love learning about your story and helping to ensure the spark of what makes you and your business you, is accurately reflected in the numbers, presentations, and proposals sent out into the world on your behalf.

In my opinion, there is no better honor than to play even the smallest part in leveling the playing field for our clients, allowing them to open up a whole new world of possibilities for themselves and their families.

You see, I am one of the rare lucky ones: I had exactly the childhood a person could hope for in life. I was given every opportunity to succeed in my own unique way. Encouraged to work hard, give everything my all, but also to be curious, to be a lifelong learner, to balance my hard work with deep presence and community and to listen when a really shiny door closes because an even better one is opening.

He taught me these lessons when he never missed a little league game even if he rushed there right from the courtroom in his suit and shiny shoes. Or when I didn’t make the team and found myself as a different kind of shining star on my high school stage telling stories.

These are the values that have stuck with me throughout my life and career.

Ryan’s Facts

  • Along with loving stories, I love jokes. Attempting (key word) to make people laugh while standing in front of the room with a microphone is a terrifying and exhilarating experience. It has gone pretty well and also really terrible, but when a joke lands in a room of strangers, that's fun.

  • You don't need to be drinking coffee that you scoop out of a can. You shouldn't. Coffee is the greatest of all liquids that we consume, in my humble opinion, and it can be so much more delicious than people realize. If we set up time to grab coffee, I'll pick the spot for us.  I can't wait!

  • I often find myself trying to find fiction books that interest me, but I always end up back at true stories that blow my mind. Whether it's The Worst Hard Time about the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, The Fish That Ate the Whale about the banana industry of the early 1900s, or even Boomtown which outlines the founding of Oklahoma City alongside talking about the Thunder teams of the 2000s. If you need an obscure history book recommendation, I'm happy to help.
