Hi, I’m Jordan
Spreadsheets have always made sense to me. My dad brought home our first family computer when I was in middle school. That giant glowing box with its floppy disks, satisfying mechanical keyboard, and Lotus 123 opened up my world.
The cells in those spreadsheets brought order to the chaos around me. They represented possibility. They allowed me to imagine, forecast and reverse engineer the results I wanted. Whether the cells held my team’s basketball stats or the path to buying my first car with my earnings from refereeing soccer games in the summer or working at Subway as the best sandwich artist in town on the weekends. They managed my study plans at MSU, and helped me make it through multiple budget seasons and M&A diligence projects in my professional career.
It’s why I love taking the valuable insights, models, and frameworks from my time in corporate finance and applying them creatively and meaningfully to give hard-working business owners access to the same playbooks as Wall Street.
I love showing people how much power the cells in the spreadsheets of their business have, the stories they can tell, and that they are in control of the numbers and thus, that power.
It’s why I love being on the team here at Doescher Group, whose whole mission is to level the playing field for our clients, allowing them to open up a whole new world of possibilities and help write their own story.
I sometimes wonder if my Dad knew what he was giving my brother and I when he brought home that computer. I wonder if it was as deliberate as teaching us about hard work, the value of money, and his plan for us to bleed Green and White of Michigan State University.
I wonder if he hoped it would unlock a world he didn’t have access to yet, if it would help level the playing field in our futures just a little bit as a hardworking rural family.
Whether that was his intent or not, it worked.
These are the values that have stuck with me throughout my life and career.

I know I’m supposed to play it cool with the spreadsheets, pretend like I’m not obsessed with the functional brilliance excel brings to my life.
Maybe it’s just the way my brain works, but the ability to automate, organize and predict makes me feel more in control of the world around me. Spreadsheets have saved me time, energy, stress, and anxiety all with a few cells, and helpful formulas!
What’s not to love? -
You know that feeling where you are a little bit out of place? The one where you’re stretched slightly out of your comfort zone? It turns out that I love this feeling, but only when accompanied by great food and time away from regular life. 5 continents and counting, I love to travel and put myself in these new and interesting situations!

Growing up my Dad and I spent hours watching the game, making our world famous lasagna together. When I was little, my job was sprinkling the cheese or laying the noodles. As I got bigger, so did my lasagna responsibilities. What started as a sweet tradition between father and son evolved into some serious lasagna expertise. Week after week, experimenting with flavors and techniques. World Famous because it’s never the same twice. Now, whenever I spend my Sunday watching the game and preparing my favorite meal, I think of my Dad.
