THE SAGE ADVICE FROM THE LUCKY GUY SERIES

Books by Tom Doescher

I spent five decades in business — from my early days as a staff accountant to senior partner at Plante Moran, eventually founding Doescher Advisors. and now arguably my proudest moment working in the business my very own son brought to life.

Along the way I accumulated more than I ever expected: great clients, remarkable colleagues, and mentors who changed my life. Writing these books has been my way of paying that forward.

If you've read my blog, you know I try to tell it straight. These books are no different. Each one in the Sage Advice from the Lucky Guy series covers a different part of the journey — business, leadership, mentoring, faith, and a few chapters I never saw coming.

All books are available on Amazon. Click any title below to order your copy.

Business Books

Field manuals and frameworks I wish I'd had earlier in my career

  • Sage Business Advice From a Lucky Guy

I wrote this one during COVID-19, which gave me more time to think than I was used to. It pulls together over 240 of my blog posts — with some embellishment — and includes a special tribute to the six mentors who shaped my career. If you've been reading The Advisor's Corner, this is the collection you've been waiting for.

If you're new here, it's the best place to start.

  • Hunter Extraordinare by Tom Doescher

    Hunter Extraordinaire

I've spent a lot of time around great business developers, and I've noticed they all do certain things that most people don't. This book is my attempt to put those habits and instincts into a practical field manual.

Helpful for people who are just getting started in business development and want a real head start.

  • Reboot Your Mind for a Healthier Workplace

Over my career I've seen the best and the worst of team behavior — and I can tell you that most business problems aren't really business problems. This book tackles the most common issues that quietly sabotage organizations.

It's part practical business advice, part psychology, and entirely based on things I've lived through firsthand.

  • Build Your Own Dream Team

I've studied the world's most successful teams for a long time, and the patterns are surprisingly consistent. This book summarizes what I found and puts it into a format you can actually use.

A resource for building a team from the ground up or trying to get more out of the one you already have.
